Review in Finances category from Oxford, Alabama
My Son and his wife got behind in paymenta to Frankin (LYING) First. Agreed on payment arrangement to keep from being sued. My son made the First payment, but since he only gets paid every two weeks, and they evidently didnt like that.... My son is getting sued. NOW my son, his wife, and my two grandchildren are in dire straits! I agree they shouldnt have gotten behind, but were making an effort to make things right. Thia will also go on my Social Media Site and I have well over 1000 friends. I hope Franklin First goes out of business and Fast!!!
Reason of review:
Problems with payment

Not telling all the fact.
They do not tell you that they use a third party software (state records) program to determine wether you have a bankruptcy before they determine approval of your loan. But, they don't tell you that even if the bankruptcy is 15 or 20 years old, they will still turn you down. I had an employee tell me "if you kill a dog tweny years ago, the dog is still dead, so a bankruptcy is a bankruptcy no matter how long is been" he also admitted that this program was a tool in using to screen who to lend money to. I had gotten mortgage loan there before and did not have a problem, and paid it off early. Now it is a problem, maybe because of this new software.

Franklin first mortgage
Our buyer went to Contour Mortgage and then the people left there and went to Franklin First in Melville,NY in September, mortgage started in April, and now its New years eve and we were suppose to close this morning per Jessica, but guess what no closing. They are horrible and all they need is more and more documents. Can any one tell me if i can take these people to court I dont know what else to do but we are being told we are closing and nothing happens. My buyer should have went to a real bank and this would have been done already.

Incompetence or Scam you decide
"Franklin First Financial strives to make the loan process a simple and pleasant experience," and I quote. You decide if the following is an example of good customer service. In June of 2011 we were introduced to Franklin First National to refinance and consolidate our debt. It is now November 2011. After FINALLY being told we were approved for the refinance/loan and would be closing in "a couple of days," there always was a phone call from "someone" requesting more information OR a document that required yet another signature stalling our closing date. Our loan officer, Brian Malone working out of the Melville office in New York, returned our telephone calls at his convenience and did not have the professional courtesy to tell us he would be vacationing during the week we expected to close! We now learned that there is yet another hurdle to jump. It never ends. Mr. Malone claims on his resume (LinkedIn) he can get this done in "7 days NO JOKE!" Five months later...we have not closed! Stay away to avoid the tension, stress, frustration and incompetence or scam...NO JOKE!

Franklin First never called me back
After spending weeks going through the process of refinancing, including all the copying and faxing of documents to this bank, one day I just never heard from them again. Our credit rating was fine, our debt ratio was fine and we spent $450 on an appraisal that came back good, although the appraiser checked a box on it that meant the appraisal was only good if we finished the upstairs bathroom. If he had just deducted the amount we still would have been fine. I even had a profit and loss statement drawn up by our accountant for our business. Cory Sykes told me he would call me back by the middle of the week, he never did, so I called him. To this day he has not called me back. That was three months ago.
Loss:
$450

They have all of my personal information
I just want them to mail my personal information back to me! They've had it for well over a month, and I'm still waiting for it to be returned to me! They won't answer phones, and numbers have been disconnected! I can't tell you how many phone calls they had made to me, and told me not to talk to any other brokers except for them! When you call, e-mail and leave messages, and nothing is returned cold turkey, it makes you wonder just who you're actually dealing with! JUST SEND BACK MY INFORMATION!

Disclosed Personal Information to third party
I refinanced my mortgage with Franklin First Financial only to have it sold less than one month after closing. I received a letter from them requesting the first month mortgage when the loan had been sold to another bank which was also requesting the mortgage payment. Franklin First has contacted my employer on at least 6 different occasions and informed my boss that I was not paying my mortgage payment and was in default of my loan. I was let go from my job and they still continued calling my former employer and disclosing personal financial information. They have also called my sister on several occasions and left voice mails indicating that they were looking for me because I did not pay my mortgage. As if all the calls were not enough, they also showed up at my home and spoke to my 70 year old mother and told her that I was delinquent and they were going to foreclose on my house. I came home to find my mother in tears that we were going to loose our home. I have never heard of a company that comes and knocks on your door to collect on your mortgage, If I did owe them that first month mortgage they would simply file a judgement against me and my home, but since they are trying to scam me out of one mortgage payment they are resorting to harassment tactics which are not only illegal but unethical. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau as well as the Banking Department and filing a complaint.

Franklin first financial lies for your money
Frankin First 2011 I am filing a formal complaint against Franklin Financial for the following reasons: On or about (6-30-10 ) I was approached by Joe Souza regarding re-mortgaging my house as well as getting a loan from Franklin Financial.. It took approximately one month for Joe to determine that he had all of the necessary information because he kept coming back and saying that he needed other things that he didn't ask for originally. He called many times and I was told: "I have great news: .I can get your parents off your loan/mortgage .I can get you $25,000 at closing for debt and .I can get a 4.5% rate for re-mortgage" ...Turned out to be lies Based on this information, I paid the $500 for my home appraisal. He told me that my house appraised for $196,000. (I later found out that he lied; it was actually $190,000.) Then began the phone calls requiring more and then more information. This went on for several months. By December I was told that I would have to pay my Accountant $100 for a profit/loss sheet on my income which needed to reflect that I earned $15,000 more than I made in 2010. This went back and forth until my Accountant and I agreed that we could increase the statement $5,000. Joe said this would be enough. By this time, weeks would go by without hearing anything. Return phone calls became a thing of the past. My parents also placed phone calls to Joe which were never returned. Twice I had to call Joe's manager, Anthony Pellegrino. He also was in no hurry to return my calls. It took me four phone calls to Mr. Pellegrino to even obtain a copy of my appraisal. I finally gave up! 11-10-2011 I have now been notified that Mr. Souza is no longer with the company. Franklin Financial led me to believe all of the above and ended up costing me $600 for absolutely nothing except a lot of wasted time (six months), not to mention the extreme frustration and disappointments. I believe that this whole thing was just a Scam and that the money Franklin Financial received for my appraisal should be returned to me. If I had not been lied to, I would never have invested that money for another appraisal. This whole process was begun because I needed money and instead it cost me $600

Franklin First Financial
I was contacted by a sales person on 3-04-08 , from Franklin First Financial about refinance my mortgage. After we spoke I was called by the Division manager, he was going to put a package together and get back to me. I got a call back and was told that I "had to get the information back to them asap" the FHA backed loan was ending at 3PM that day... He later said I needed to get all the information to him by 5PM, so what was it??? It didn't sound correct, so i checked into the FHA backed loans, and found out they were not ending. He lied, i've been taken once, not twice!!! I wrote by email to the division manager and just said i was not interested. Since then I'm getting calls from them re: the re-finance, even tonight and had to hang up twice...

Franklin First Financial is not licensed in Alabama and has never done business there. You must be thinking of First Franklin.
That is a completely different company. My name is Audra Hornig. I am GC of Franklin First Financial.
Please review this and please remove or edit your post to reflect the correct company. It would be very much appreciated as you have the wrong company.
According to NMLS Consumer Access Franklin First Financial has never been a license lender in Alabama so you must be thinking of a different lender.
